Obituary of Arthur E. Lowe

Arthur E. "Bob" Lowe, Jr. Arthur E. "Bob" Lowe, Jr., a resident of the Village of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Saturday, June 12, 2010. He was 82 Son of the late Arthur E. Lowe, Sr. and Margaretta A. Hawkins Lowe, he was born September 24, 1927 in Cranston, Rhode Island. He married the love of his life, the former, Mary A. Pieja on April 26, 1947 in Reading, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Lowe survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1949 when he was honorably discharged. He served aboard the USS Princeton. He graduated from Roger Williams University with a bachelor's degree in engineering. He went on to work for IBM as an engineer, retiring from their Poughkeepsie location. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and had constructed his own boat. He also spent time skiing, working his garden and woodworking. Most importantly, he was a wonderful husband, loving father and treasured grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed. In addition to his wife of sixty-three years, Mary A. Lowe, he is survived by his children, Christine M. Lowe of Esopus, Kenneth A. Lowe of Wappingers Falls, David G. Lowe and his wife, Alice of Wappingers Falls and Dianne C. Mitchell and her husband, Charles Wahl of Highland; his grandchildren, Michael, Robert, Jessie, Krystal, Nikki, Jaime, Stephanie and Heather and his thirteen great-grandchildren. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116.
