Dear Maria, Lenore and Frank,
I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I know she suffered for many years with back and neck problems, and it was truly amazing how much she did in spite of all that.
Your father too, had many medical trials to endure. God bless them both - and all of you.
I hope you didn't mind me just showing up (outa the blue) at this morning's Mass. What a glorious service! What a blessing to have been there.
My mother is one who noted how much Velia did and how much joyful energy she had! I think she was amazed how Velia held herself up and kept going all those years.
I knew your mother was still in the area but didn't know exactly where. A couple years ago my mother asked about your parents (she's now is in a nursing home near Washington DC)- but since then she has had many health problems and I'm not sure what she remembers now or what she's even aware of. She's still a trooper though - it seems people of your parents' generation (and my parents) were/are SO much stronger and 'tougher' than people today!! I am pretty much in awe of them. My father passed away in August 2006 - after a bout with pneumonia and four years of Parkinsons- which initially took a long time to diagnose.
Your mother was a lovely person, one who made even a shy & quiet 'kid' like myself ('way back then - in the 70's/80's) feel pretty special and "lively" !! Your whole family was, and is, very special. May God help you through this very difficult time.
Sincerely,
Peggy Hill (& Mom, Helen (and father Yates) -former neighbors at Deer Run Road)

Dear Lenore, Brian, Maria, Kenny, Frank and Rozanne,
I once heard someone say that it's not death that brings us the greatest loss in life, but all that dies inside of us. As life goes on, you will find ways to celebrate the memory of your dear mother. I know she would want you to live every day to the fullest and continue the celebration of her life. Sometimes there are no words that can reveal the feelings of the heart, but please accept our deepest thoughts of you and the family at this time. Renee and Nick Mavros

Dear Frank & Rozanne, Maria & Kenny and Lenore & Brian, and families:
Please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mother and Mother-In-Law. We will miss Velia so much. Her spirit, enthusiasm and zest for life was so contagious. Nothing ever got her down. Even when she wasn't feeling well, she was still feeling good! You are blessed to have special memories like Jenna's Sweet 16, where the family was able to be together and celebrate with your Mom there. You will always treasure those pictures and memories. I can just picture she and Bill dancing up a storm at Pearly Gates! God Bless and our deepest condolences to you all. Love, Sue & Rich, Meredith, Kristen & Caroline.
