Obituary of Clinton R. Oestrich
Clinton R. Oestrich of Wappingers Falls passed peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Sapphire Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Wappingers Falls.
Clinton was born on February 3, 1934 in Monticello, NY to his late parents Robert and Mildred Oestrich. He was married to his late wife Lois E. Oestrich for 60 years.
Clinton's sister, Roberta Bleier and his son-in-law, Nels Nelson predeceased him in death.
Clinton is survived by his son, Robert Oestrich and wife, Ellen; his son, Stephen Oestrich; his son, Mark Oestrich and wife, Sabrina; his daughter, Christine Nelson; grandchildren, Kristi Palmer, Eric Oestrich, Michelle Oestrich, Kimberly Oestrich, David Nelson and Julia Nelson; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Palmer, Robbie Palmer and Ivan Oestrich.
After high school, Clinton proudly served in the United States Air Force for 4 years, worked 4 years at GE and worked at IBM for 29 years, until his retirement.
He was active as a Scout Master and served as a Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America.
Clinton dedicated endless hours of his time as a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wappingers Falls. He most recently attended the New Hackensack Reformed Church. Clinton was also a master at chess and was always willing to play with anyone who would challenge him.
Clinton loved spending time with family and tent camping with the Boy Scouts where he was known as Mr O.
A private interment will take place, followed by a Celebration of Life service at the New Hackensack Reformed Church, 1850 Rte 376, Wappingers Falls on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Light refreshments will follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Clinton's name to the New Hackensack Reformed Church.
