Obituary of Rosalie C. Pung

Rosalie C. Pung, of Wappingers Falls, entered into eternal life on July 26, 2023, her husband’s birthday. She was 84.

Daughter of the late Peter and Berlinda Sucato and older sister of the late Frank Sucato, she was born May 3, 1939 in Beacon, NY. She married Bruce D. Pung in 1965; they celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2017.

Rosalie attended school in Beacon, she went onto Lady Cliff College where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in math with a minor in biology. Rosalie worked for IBM until she had her first of three children.

For Rosalie, God and family were everything to her. She was truly a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed walks in her neighborhood, bird watching from her porch, family gatherings, eating at the Dutchess Diner, fall weather and visiting with friends at St. Mary’s Church where she attended Sunday mass for 53 years.

Rosalie is survived by her children, Linda Shannon, Mary Rondeau and her husband, Louis and Michael Pung and his wife, Susan; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Richard, Nick, Daniel and his wife, Lauren, Lucas, Jameson and Donovan.

Family and friends will gather on Monday, August 7, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8 at St. Mary’s Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.
