Obituary of Barbara J. Pesano
Barbara J. Pesano of Wappingers Falls passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 surrounded by her husband William and sons Geoffrey, Gregory, and Christian. She was 79.
Barbara was born on February 1, 1942 in Beacon NY to Frank and Anna L. (Cianchetta) Menconeri. In 1962 she graduated from Dutchess Community College with an AAS degree in Secretarial Science. On July 14, 1963 at St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls she married William Pesano. Mr. Pesano survives at home in Wappingers Falls.
Barbara worked as a Secretary at IBM from 1962 to 1970 in the Personnel and Medical Departments. After starting her family she returned to work as an Administrative Assistant at Telequip Electronics of Fishkill from 1981 to 1984. From 1986 until her retirement in 2008 she was employed by Dutchess Community College as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Academic Affairs. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Wappingers Falls, a member of St.Mary's Mother's Guild and The Italian Center Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Geoffrey Pesano and his wife, Maureen of Marlboro, Gregory Pesano of Wappingers Falls, and Christian Pesano of Pleasant Valley; her granddaughter, Sophia Pesano; and her grandson, Mark Pesano.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Francis Menconeri.
Interment will be private at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Poughkeepsie.
