To Dante & Family,
My sincere condolences to you all for your loss. Karen was an exceptional person! A loving wife and mother and a wonderful friend.
I can remember the many interesting and fun conversations we had while commuting back and forth to work in Croton.
The ones I remember best are the fun ones about the traffic and how we could get by it.
We talked about getting a helicopter hook up for the car so when we were stuck in traffic or behind a slow poke we could just flip on the switch an up and away we'd go.
There was also the idea of the car like in the cartoons. The one where with another flip of the switch we could make the car go up in the air with the tires on the ground which would allow us to go "over" the car in front of us.
Those are just a few of the many ways we'd discussed about how to do it. Even though we were frustrated by the traffic. We laughed about our ideas, which made it seem less frustrating.
I will remember Karen for the exceptional person she was! Also all the memories that I shared with her. Both during our commute and while at work.
My deepest sympathy to you and your family during these even more trying times. As your lives continue on with your wonderful memories of her. May God and Karen be watching over you all!

Karen was a friend and co-worker. When I was having a tough time just motivating myself to get to work and last out the day, seeing and talking to her was like a cool drink of water in the hot sun. She was fun, intelligent, warm, and most of all real. The world will be a colder place without her.
I pray to the Lord that you all can find a way to feel fortunate to have had her in your life instead of feeling such a sense of loss. I know you will miss her. She was one of the world's real sweethearts.

To Alice (Babe), Judy, Tom and Karen's Husband, Children and Grandchildren
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your Daughter, Sister, Wife , Mother and Grandmother. We live in North Carolina now but have fond remembrances of my Uncle Tom Petty (we adored him) and of Alice, Tommy and their children. We have been here for 12 years and it is so hard when one loses track of our family members. We lost Rae and Buzzy 2 years ago and so we know what grief is. So sorry for your loss. Please accept our deepest condolences. God will take fine care of Karen. Suzanne (Petty) Morse and George Morse, Michael Petty, Francine Schrader and Gregory Hodge, and Christopher and Kelley Morse.
