Eunice Eighmie
Eunice Eighmie, a lifelong resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 74.
Daughter of the late Charles and Melvinia Stokes Lawrence, she was born October 14, 1933 in Wappingers Falls.
She was married to Douglas L. Eighmie. Mr. Eighmie preceded her in death on September 27, 1998. Prior to her retirement, Eunice was a Nurse's Aide at Castle Point VAMC. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching television.
Survivors include her two sons, George Eighmie of New Hamburg and Richard Eighmie and his fiance, Amy of New Hamburg; her brother, Cal Lawrence of Wappingers Falls; her two sisters, Evelyn Berinato of Hughsonville and Gloria Taft of Ulster County; three grandchildren, Michael, Christina and Dana; one great-granddaughter, Madison and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 2 to 4 pm at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY.
A funeral service will follow at 4 pm at the funeral home.
