Obituary of Gertrude J. Jaked-Gallagher
Gertrude Jean Jaked-Gallagher
Gertrude Jean Jaked-Gallagher, a twenty year resident of Lake Placid, Florida and formerly of Wappingers Falls, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Palm Terrace Nursing Home in Lakeland, Florida. She was 76.
Daughter of the late Berger and Dorothy Isachsen, she was born on August 19, 1931 in Albany. She was married to Richard A. Jaked; he precedes her in death, passing on June 14, 1986. She is survived by her husband, Frank Gallagher, at home in Lake Placid.
Gertrude was a member of the Order of Eastern Star; Dover Chapter, Poughkeepsie Women's Bowling Association where she was inducted into their Hall of Fame, and the New Hackensack Reformed Church Choir.
Survivors include her loving husband, Frank; her children, Linda Edmunds, Richard Jaked, Donna Sullivan and Barry Jaked; her brother, Douglas Isachsen; her sister, Ruth Munro; 13 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her first husband, Richard, she is predeceased by her sister, Evelyn Geitner.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the New Hackensack Reformed Church, Route 376 in Wappingers Falls. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following visitation at the church. Interment will follow in the New Hackensack Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Gertrude's name to the American Cancer Society, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
