I will never forget Mrs. Monopoli for her spirit, bravery and passion. Now a graduating senior, it seems like forever ago that she was telling me that she would "eat me up like a cupcake". But I still remember sitting in class, listening to her read or tell a story about her two sons. Besides being an incredible teacher, Mrs. Monopoli has been my inspiration to do the one thing that I love: performing on stage. My first show was with her, when we did "Wolfie" in the fourth grade. She passed away before the performance, but she inspired me to continue with the same passion that she had. I am now the president of the Masque and Mime Society, and I have performed in numerous community productions since. I owe all of my success to her, and I will always be grateful for everything that she has given to me.

I just heard of Kasey's passing, I can't get it out of my mind. I have lots of memories with Kasey, we knew each other from such a young age. Growing up in Wapp. Falls I had lots of sleepovers with Kasey in addition to the many activities we did together. We continued all of our schooling together. I relocated out to Los Angeles, CA and was searching for Kasey via the internet. It was to my dismay to learn the enevitable. My heart is aching, and my thoughts and prayers are with the family at such a difficult time. She was a beautiful person and will be greatly missed by many.

I just heard about Kasey's passing. I am so sad about this tragic news. I can't imagine your sorrow. I went to Ketcham with Kasey. I will always remember her smile, and sweet voice. She was always such a positive spirit. The last time I saw her was at our 10 year high school reunion. She greeted me at the door & was so kind & friendly. We were all blessed to have had her touch our lives. May God bless you all & bring you peace!

Dear Dominic, sons, and family,
My heart is in great sorrow and pain for you in the loss of Kasey. Bethany had her as a second grade teacher in her first year of teaching at Oak Grove. She was a wonderful inspiration to Bethany and the class. Her enthusiam was ever so contagious. It was one of Bethany's best elementary school years. Kasey had the knack for teaching and inspiring students at all levels. She was also a big kid herself and often would play with the children on the playground in a game of soccer or kickball. My husband, Keith, and her shared a fondness of sharing jokes with each other. I remember one year Keith gave her a pair of Rudolph antlers around the Christmas holiday. Bethany and I lost our beloved husband and father the day after Kasey's passing on April 11, 2007. The two of them are now sharing their humor with each other in paradise. Kasey will be missed but she is now set free to be with our Lord and Savior.

To her wonderful boys and loving husband, our prayers are with you, and there isn't a day we don't think of you. Mrs. Monopoli was a wonderful teacher, and she meant a lot to everyone at Oak Grove. It was very sad to hear that she was not going to make it, and everyone was upset but she is in a better place, and watching over us. It is always good to know that she is in all of our hearts.
I was so happy that she was my drama teacher, and to learn a lot with her and every1, and although she will not be with us at the play in person, she will be there in spirit. <3>
I hope that Domonic and Andrew know what a great person Mrs. Monopoli was and when they are older, I hope they realize how special they were to her. And I also, apologize for Mr. Monopoli's loss, and I think he should know how special of a teacher she was to everyone at Oak Grove. AGain, I am very sorry for your loss.

Our hearts are heavy with sadness as we send our prayers to Mrs. Monopoli's loved ones. Our daughters were lucky enough to be in her second grade and drama classes last year and just flourished with Mrs. Monopoli's love and guidance. She always had a smile, encouraging word or hug for them. Oak Grove will not be the same without her presence, but I believe each child touched by her will carry a bit of her spirit with them. Thank you for your wonderful gift of love for our girls, Mrs. Monopoli. We miss you and love you.

Mrs.Monopoli, jeez..I don't even know where to begin. Although I didn't have her as my teacher, I had her in both 4th and 5th grade for Drama Club. Mrs.Monopoli was, and still is, one of the sweetest and most genuine people that I have ever met. My most vivid memory of her is her portrayal of "Scooparina" at the Ice Cream socials. I don't care how old you are, her in that outfit with the big ice cream hat was always funny! I will be forever grateful for all of the lessons she has taught me. Because of her, I am a better person and she will be in all of our hearts forever. My condolences to her family. She will always be with you; maybe not in person, but always in spirit. I love you Mrs.Monopoli, you've inspired me in so many ways, I can't imagine a thing like this ever happening to you. But, I'll live each day to the fullest and smile each time I think of you, I know that's what you would want.

When I first learned of Mrs. Monopoli's sickness being very severe, it was opening night at the Roy C. Ketcham High School Play. Knowing of her sickness made me want nothing to do with the performance any longer. I remembered the huge impact Mrs. Monopoli had on my love of acting. Mrs. Monopoli was one of my favorite teachers, and had nothing but love and kindess towards me. Her Drama Club made me realize my love of acting, and remembering what she taught me, I pushed through and put on a great performance in her honor. Her passing away dealt a great deal of sadness to me, but I decided to move on and find the bright side of life, as she taught me and would want me to do. I love you Mrs. Monopoli, and I know you will look down on me as my guardian angel. And as you watch down on me, remember my evil laugh from the Drama Club performance of Aladdin. You always loved that laugh, and I will laugh on in joy in your memory. May you forever rest in peace. My deepest condolences to the family from the bottom of my heart. I hope you have the strength to push through and know that my love will be with you through this struggle. I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Mrs. Monopoli was more than a teacher, she was a friend. She will forever have a big place in my heart.

I remember vividly my first parent/teacher conference with Kasey when Nick had her in the 2nd grade in 1999. She was so eager to share her thoughts about my son and did so with such love and warmth. Kasey was the first teacher to remark on Nick's incredible compassion for others and his willingness to reach out to help his fellow classmates. He remains that same compassionate child and each time I hear that from someone, I can hear Kasey's words resonating in my memory. Nick also began his love for theatre under her direction at Oak Grove and continues to perform in district and local school plays. There are those few teachers that come along in life that have a truly great impact on not only the academic future of a child but on the character and heart of who he becomes. Kasey was one of those teachers. She will be loved and missed by so many. May the spirit of her teaching live on in so many of the young lives she touched. My deepest sympathy to her family.

Our hearts are breaking at the loss of Kasey, and for her family. My daughter, Alicia, was in the first class taught by then, Ms. Schwedo. She came in early in the year, as their originl teacher was very ill. She made their transition so effortless and breathed such life into the children. Her favorite story that she relayed to me was when she was telling the children that she would soon be marrying her "Prince Charming" (Mr. Monopoli). One of the children raised his hand and asked if the class would then have to call her Mrs. Charming. Myself, my daughter and several of her friends were thrilled when she invited us to her wedding at St. Mary's. She was a beautiful bride and together with Dom, they were "The Charmings." I pray that the love that is felt for her will comfort her family and keep her spirit alive forever. She will be deeply missed.
