I had the please of working along side Jim in working with students in Evans as a family advocate of a local children's mental health agency. Jim was very devoted to the children's well being as well as thier academics. The best interests of the children always came first.
I also knew Jim as a parent in Wappingers. He was the first coordinator to come up with great solutions for my child. She is an A student today in honor classes. I know the plans made with him during her early years have made the difference. I will never forget what he did for her.
your family is in our thought and prayers.

Our deepest, heartfelt condolences go to the Cardus family. Through the years when our children attnded the Millbrook schools, Jim was always there at the school functions, or sport meets cheering on his kids, and everyone elses! We will always remember the one thing he was never without, a smile. Jim was a fine man who will be missed by many. Our prayers and fond rememberances are with you, Alyssa and Mike.
With deep sympathy,

On behalf of the Town of Wappinger Senior Center,
I wanted to send our deepest sympathy on the passing of a wonderful man. Our Seniors Citizens have enjoyed visiting Evans Elementary School to read with the children. Mr. Cardus was instrumental in getting this program started. He was always supportive and caring. He will be missed.

I was blessed knowing Jim Cardus during the years he was the Principal at the Children's Home of Kingston. That smile will not be forgotten. He was
one who gave his best at a difficult time at our school. He will not be forgotten.
I still can see his office filled with Mickey Mouse smiles on dolls and paintings (I think he even took on that smile now and again.)
I am assuming Wednesday night(tonight) is just for family and all can attend Thurs. PM?
May God give His peace at this time.
Sincerely
Mary Plantier

It was a pleasure to have worked with Jim for 5 years. I will always remember the many times we just laughed. I speak for so many people when I say that he will be missed so very much.
I'm so glad I had the opportunity to come to your home and visit with him and listen to his stories and plans to come back. He was a real trooper! God bless him and all of you.
Sincerely,

I had the pleasure of working with Jim when he served as the coordinator for Rehab. He always had a smile and kind word for everyone he interfaced with. I wish there were words adequate to address your loss. Know that he touched many lives and will be remembered by countless people as a good and kind man, a serious educator with a wonderful sense of humor!

Mikey and family -
My heart longs to be there to give you each a hug, and to hold your hand. I never met James, but from everything that Mike has said, he sounds like a man I would have loved to have met. Seeing the amazing man that Mike is now, is a testimony of who James was and how he impacted Mike's life. My prayers are with each of you. I love you Mikey!
