Obituary of Marie D'Ambra

Marie D'Ambra Marie D'Ambra of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 74. Daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine D'Amico Fauci, she was born on June 8, 1931 in Manhattan. She wed her loving husband Anthony C. D'Ambra on October 5, 1968 in Yonkers; the remained happily married for over 25 years. He precedes her in death, passing on September 5, 1995. Marie worked as a bookkeeper for Mark's Real Estate in Wappingers Falls. She enjoyed many things in life such as bingo and playing card games. Survivors include her son, Peter Ferrante of New Jersey; her daughter, JoAnn Davis and her husband, Kevin of Poughkeepsie; her sister, Louise Castagna of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she is predeceased by her son, Thomas Ferrante who passed in 1984 and her sister, Vivian Cantarella who passed in 2002. Family will receive their friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, December 1 at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held during visitation at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
