Theresa F. Kelley, 35, of Chapel Hill, NC, formerly of Wappingers Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill, NC.
Terri was born on March 25, 1970 in Yonkers, NY. In 1978 she and her family moved to Wappingers Falls where she spent most of her young adult life. Terri attended Roy C. Ketcham High School and was very involved in the softball team, volleyball team and track. In 1991, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from The State University of New York's College at New Paltz. In 1993, Terri moved to Cary, NC with her then fianc�e and high-school sweetheart, Scott Kelley. They later married in October of 1994.
She formally began her elementary school teaching career in the Wake County Public School System. Terri very proudly received many teaching accolades and recognition. She was even nominated for the Disney Teacher of the Year Award.
Beginning in 1999, Terri began to pursue her ultimate passion of becoming a stay-at-home mom and taking care of her family. Above and beyond anything, Terri will most be remembered for the tremendous and unselfish love she continuously dedicated to her children. Her presence and guidance throughout their lives will be missed the most.
Terri is survived by her loving husband of nearly 11 years, Scott, five year old son Ryan, twin three year old daughters Emma and Morgan. In addition are her parents, Peter H. Franz, Sr. and Jo-Ann Franz; sister Christina Visconti and her husband Nicholas; brother Brian Franz and his wife Melissa, all of Wappingers Falls, NY; as well as her brother Peter H. Franz, Jr. and his wife Hope of Pennsylvania. There are also several, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls from 7-8 pm Thursday, August 18, 2005. A funeral service will follow at 8 pm in the funeral home.
A private burial will be held on Friday at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
