Patrick J. Joyce
Patrick J. Joyce of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Castlepoint VAMC in Beacon. He was 75.
Son of the late Christopher and Emma Lewis Joyce, he was born on December 11, 1929 in Beacon. He wed Shirley Phillips on January 9, 1954 at the Hughsonville Presbyterian Church. They remained happily married for 51 loving years.
Mr. Joyce served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1957, fighting in the Korean War in the Tank Battalion.
Patrick worked for many years as a tool and dye maker for the Green Fan Company in Beacon. He also worked as a custodian for the Spackenkill School District from 1985-1994. In his free time he was Elder and adult youth group leader for the Hughsonville Presbyterian Church. He also was Trustee for Local 38 Sheetmetal Workers Union and a volunteer for the Hughsonville Fire Company.
In addition to his wife Shirley at home in Wappingers Falls, he is survived by his son, David Patrick Joyce and his wife, Winona; his daughter, Barbara Jean Lewandowski and her husband, John; his sister, Rose Becker; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 23 at 11 a.m. at the Hughsonville Presbyterian Church, Route 9D, Hughsonville. Inurnment will follow in the Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hughsonville Presbyterian Church, Route 9D, Hughsonville, NY 12537.
