Obituary of John J. Bossong

John J. Bossong John J. Bossong of the Town of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at Eden Park Nursing Home. He was 81. Son of the late John and Brigid Coyne Bossong, he was born on March 5, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY. John worked as Officer of Sanitation for the New York City Department of Sanitation before his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Vera Leal Bossong, at home in Poughkeepsie; his son, Richard Bossong and his wife, Kelly; his daughters, Pamela Herbst and her husband, Edward, and Linda Rock; his brother, Robert Bossong; his sister, Mildred Evans; grandchildren, Vera, Adam, Matthen, Jennie, David, Maureen and Gina; and several great-grandchildren. John is predeceased by his son, John J. Bossong. Family will receive their friends on Friday, July 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday, July 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
