Please accept my deepest sympathies on your loss. I met Charlie in 1966 when I joined IBM. We stayed in touch throughout the years even into my retirement. Charlie was a rare gem, no words can do him justice. I will always remember his GREAT sense of humor, even though I was often the butt of his jokes. Clay Robertson

Deep sympathies. I remember Charlie when we rode motorcycles and took trips up the power line.
Most of all I remember Charlie's sense of humor. Once when we were working in the lab rather late in the evening in our respective labs he pulled a joke on me that to me was the classic Charlie practical joke.
our labs were separated by a doorway that was open. Charlie said good night and I heard him "leave" through his lab door to the outside hall.
Unknown to me he just opened and close the door and stayed in his lab.
He then proceeded to craw on his stomach behind and under benches to the back of my bench.
He then grabbed my foot and growled. It took me a half hour to compose myself.
Charlie was a great colleague and friend. He brighten so many days for us.
So very sorry to hear of his passing and wish to pass my condolences to the family especially Jane.

My heart goes out to you Jane, Bob and Ben. I am so sorry for your loss. Charlie was a dear friend that I will miss very much. He was a wonderful neighbor to Frank and Millie Cookingham. Always willing to help out and lend a hand. Now he is up in Heaven with loved ones and friends that have gone before us. He is free of the all the pain and suffering he had to endure. He was such a good man. I know God has a place for him. God go with you. Jim
