Obituary of Eleanor Rieser Cadorette

Eleanor "Ellie" Rieser Cadorette, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at her home in Wappingers Falls. Born in Poughkeepsie on December 6, 1919, she was the daughter of William and Catherine Gilligan Rieser. A graduate of Poughkeepsie High School, she was secretary to the Dutchess County Superintendent of the Highway Department before her retirement. On May 31, 1953, at St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie, she married Raymond Cadorette of Montreal, Canada. He preceded her in death in April of 1989. Ellie was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, shopping, as well as sewing. She had a quick sense of humor and always wanted to look her best – hair, nails, lipstick and jewelry. Ellie's family appreciates the wonderful aides who cared for her, especially Bertha, as well as those who checked in on her and delivered meals and communion. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Kathy and Tom Hayden of Wappingers Falls, Raymond Andre and Connie Cadorette of Lake Placid, Florida, Nancy and Ralph Giusto of Newburgh, and Laurie and Kevin Lawrence of Ulster Park; her grandchildren, Keith DeRosa and wife Hope of Ballston Spa, NY, Amy DiDio and husband Dan of Catskill, NY, Amanda Franco and husband, Brian of Auburn, NY, Megan Champlin and husband, Jason of Long Island, Jessica Giusto of Newburgh, and Kim Hayden of Pearl River; her great-granddaughters, Claire DeRosa and Abigail DiDio; her great-grandson, Camilo Mustacchio; her sister-in-law, Lillian Rieser of Poughkeepsie; her niece, Ann Rieser of Washington State; as well as several nieces and nephews in Canada. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, William Rieser in April of 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls.
