Obituary of Christina R. Eichler

Christina R. Eichler Christina R. Eichler, a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest, Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 87. Daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Ferrone Ruf, she was born February 9, 1922 in Beacon, New York. On May 18, 1947, she married Arthur C. Eichler in Beacon. Mr. Eichler survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Christina worked as a Medical Lab Technician. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls and a former member of St. Mary's Mother's Guild. In addition to her husband, Arthur C. Eichler, she is survived by her children, Arthur G. Eichler , Major, USAF, retired of Omaha, NE. Mary Louise Hughes and her husband, Jonathan of Poughkeepsie, NY. Her sister, Lillian Strolis of Beacon, her brother, Benjamin Ruf of West Chester, PA and two grandchildren, Ryan and Michelle Wallace Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main St., Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon at St. Mary's Church, Clinton St., Wappingers Falls, NY. Interment will follow in the Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Christina's name may be made to St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls, NY, 12590.
