Obituary of Francisco P. Carvalho

Francisco P. Carvalho Francisco P. Carvalho of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 68. Son of the late Antonio A. and Urvano Carvalho, he was born on December 13, 1940 in Souto da Velha Moncorvo, Portugal. He married the love of his life, Maria Morgado on January 24, 1968 in Portugal; Mrs. Carvalho survives at home in Wappingers Falls. Mr. Carvalho came to the United States in 1962. He settled in Mount Vernon where he remained for over twenty years. In 1985, he and his family moved to Wappingers Falls and have resided there for over 20 years. Francisco worked in construction for several years as a member of Local #60 in Westchester. He was also a member of St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls. In addition to his wife Maria, survivors include his sons, Paul V. Carvalho of Beekman; George Carvalho and his wife, Cindy of Charlotte, NC; his sister, Teresa C. Ginja and her husband, Antonio of Somers; and several nieces and nephews. Francisco was predeceased by his sister, Maria Dulce Carvalho. Family will receive their friends on Friday, June 12, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
