Obituary of Arcoli J. Abbatiello

Arcoli J. "Corky" Abbatiello Arcoli J. "Corky" Abbatiello, a resident of Poughkeepsie and formerly of Yonkers, entered into rest Saturday, June 13, 2009 at his home. He was 85. Son of the late Dominic and Maria Ronga Abbatiello, he was born March 19, 1924 in Yonkers. He married the former Mildred Sutton. Mrs. Abbatiello preceded him in death. Corky was a Master Plumber and operated his own plumbing business. He also worked as Supervisor of Maintenance of the Yonkers School District prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, LaRabida Council # 166 in Yonkers where he was past Grand Knight, member of the 4th degree Color Guard and past Chairman of the Westchester Putnam Conference. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Sutton and her husband, Ron Moran of Poughkeepsie; his brother, Brandy Abbatiello and his wife, Ruth of Wappingers Falls; his sister, Lena Abbatiello of Yonkers; his granddaughter, Arcola McHugh and her husband, John; his great-granddaughter, Jacqueline McHugh and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Carmen and Bulliardo. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, New York 12590. A Funeral Service will be held during the evening visitation. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family in Mount Hope Cemetery.
