Obituary of Roderick Vanvoorhis

Roderick VanVoorhis Roderick VanVoorhis of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Elant at Wappingers Falls. He was 85. Son of the late Albert and Blanche VanVoorhis, he was born on June 14, 1923 in Poughkeepsie. He married the love of his life, Virginia Cola on May 22, 1948 in Wappingers Falls; Mrs. VanVoorhis preceded him in death, passing on March 27, 2008. Mr. VanVoorhis was a truck driver for many years for Corbin Excavating in Wappingers Falls. He is survived by his brother, Albert VanVoorhis of Wappingers Falls. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A service will take place following visitation at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Nine Partners Cemetery, Millbrook.
