Obituary of Emilie J. Vileno

Emilie J. Vileno Emilie J. Vileno of Glenham entered into rest Sunday, April 26, 2009 at home. She was 77. Daughter of the late Antonio and Theresa Silvestri Cucci, she was born on March 14, 1932 in the Bronx. She married the love of her life, Joseph M. Vileno on May 5, 1951 in Mount Vernon; Mr. Vileno preceded her in death, passing on July 1, 2007. Mrs. Vileno spent her years making a warm and loving home for her husband and two children. When her daughters were grown, she started on her career path, working for Walden Books in Newburgh. She made her way up to manager of the store and was very proud to have done so. Emilie was an advocate and lover of animals and birds. She loved the outdoors and anything to do with fitness; she belonged to Curves and was a runner, formerly running in many marathons. She also had a love for painting. Survivors include her daughters, Vicki L. Vileno of Palm Harbor, FL, and Terri L. Vileno of Glenham; her grandson, Codie Vileno of Buffalo; sister, Rose Pomarico and her husband, Ralph of Glenham; brothers, Nicholas Cucci and his wife, Carol, and Louis Cucci and his wife, Marie, all of the state of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Joseph, she was also predeceased by her sister, Ann Maffucci. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist, 35 Willow Street in Beacon. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Emilie's name to the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), PO Box 1129, Beacon, NY 12508.
