Obituary of Alba Herczeg

Alba Herczeg Alba Herczeg of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 86. Daughter of the late Cesare and Bruna Lomi Panichi, she was born on February 23, 1923 in Livorno, Italy. She married the love of her life, Istvan Herczeg on September 1, 1962; Mr. Herczeg survives at home in Wappingers Falls. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Joseph Owens and his wife, Lisa of Brewster, and Ferenc Herczeg and his companion, Deborah Plavchak of Highland; two sisters living in Italy; her in-laws in Hungary; a niece and a nephew and their families in Maryland; and several nieces and nephews in Italy. Family will receive their friends on Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 30 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.
