Gary A. Mickle
Gary A. Mickle, a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest, Monday, January 19, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 65.
Son of the late Harry A. and Esther L. Saile Mickle, he was born July 5, 1943 in Saugerties. He graduated from Roy C. Ketcham High School, Wappingers Falls. He went on to serve in the United States Air Force. He was a Metal Process Specialist while in the Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1968 as a Staff Sergeant with a Good Conduct Medal. He was employed as a Mechanical Designer for Graphic Techniques in Lake Katrine. Gary also enjoyed woodworking and photography. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wappingers Falls.
Gary is survived by his aunt, Lois M. Morehouse and her husband, Herbert of Hurley; his sister-in-law, Sumlee Mickle; his two nephews, Lonnie and Stephen Mickle; his niece, Kimberly Mickle; and several cousins including, Lori Decker, Wendy Helsley and Herbert Morehouse, Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Carl F. Mickle in 1997; his uncle, Oliver W. Saile; and his aunts, Doramae Saile and Jessye Mickle.
Family will receive their friends on Saturday, January 24 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at Straub Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am at the funeral home with Rev. Sandra Mantz officiating.
Interment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue, Poughkeepsie.
