Obituary of Jeanette M. Scarafino

Jeanette M. Scarafino Jeanette M. Scarafino of the Town of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Monday, December 29, 2008 at home. She was 77. Daughter of the late Amelio and Marion Goff Cavoly, she was born on October 1, 1931 in Vineland, New Jersey. She married the love of her life, Angelo J. Scarafino on July 7, 1950 in Utica, NY; he precedes her in death, passing on December 6, 2002. Mrs. Scarafino worked for IBM in Poughkeepsie for many years as a member of their kitchen staff. In her family, she was known for the love she had for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a member of St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction. Survivors include her son, Steven Scarafino and his wife, Lynette of Sorrento, FL; daughters, Regina Parisella and her husband, John, Sharon Zammiello and her husband, Tim, and Jacqueline Nenni and her husband, Jim, all of Wappingers Falls; brothers, Jerry Cavoly, Donald Cavoly, Joseph Cavoly and Richard Cavoly; sisters, Diane Gaetano, Theresa Cox, and Barbara Ritz; nine grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Angelo, she was predeceased by her brothers, Jack, Carl and Robert. Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Denis Church, Beekman Road in Hopewell Junction. Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery, Hopewell Junction.
