Obituary of Katherine M. Sidote

Katherine M. Sidote Village of Wappingers Falls - The Lord opened the gates of heaven and another angel entered. Katherine M. Sidote entered into rest Friday, October 31, 2008 at Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel. She was 86. Daughter of the late William and Mary Riley Stalter, she was born June 23, 1922 in Ketchawan, New York. She married the love of her life, John J. Sidote on February 17, 1942 at St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls. Mr. Sidote preceded her in death on August 21, 1986. Kay was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls as well as a member of the Catholic Daughters, Court Queen of Peace. She enjoyed bowling, ceramics and especially reading. Her greatest joys were here grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, John Sidote and his wife, Theresa of Beacon, Patricia A. Purdy and her husband, Richard, Jr. of Hopewell Junction, Virginia Cservak and her companion, Brian Gross of Fishkill, and Richard Sidote of Bayville, New Jersey; her sister, Frances Morey; her grandchildren, Daniel Shwedo and his wife, Robyn, John Cservak and his wife, Angie, David and Matthew Cservak and Jason Sidote; and her great-grandchildren, Cody and Dakota Shwedo, Dominic and Andrew Monopoli, Jayden Baisley and Lillith Sidote. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, John Stalter and his wife, Judy; her sisters, Willa Wilson and her husband, William, Ruth Nightingale and her husband, Robert and Mary Taddeo and her husband, Anthony and her granddaughter, Kassandra L. Monopoli. Family will receive their friends on Monday, November 3, 2008 from 5 to 9 pm at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Tuesday, November 4 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
