Obituary of Jay M. Baisley

Jay M. Baisley, Jr. of Poughkeepsie died suddenly at work on Monday, September 15, 2014. He was 22. Son of Jay M. Baisley, Sr. and Carolyne Sedore Baisley, he was born November 6, 1991 in Poughkeepsie. Jay was a 2009 graduate of Spackenkill High School. He went on to earn his AAS in Information Management from Dutchess Community College. He was recently certified as a technology specialist and worked as a technician for Hugh's TV & Communications in Poughkeepsie. Jay lived life with passion; he had a great love for his work and his music. He recently joined a Rock band. A self-taught musician, he could play the guitar, keyboard and drums, just to name a few. He was an avid snowboarder and fisherman. He was the "go-to" techie in the family, able to fix just about anything. Jay also enjoyed online gaming. He was truly loved by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, survivors include his sisters, Brittany and Ciara Baisley of Poughkeepsie; his girlfriend, Kristin Fleming of Stormville; paternal grandparents, Ed and Filomena Baisley of Wappingers Falls; maternal grandmother, Alberta Sedore of Wappingers Falls; maternal grandfather, John Sedore of Beacon; uncles, Edward Baisley and Anthony Sedore; aunt, Lee Kruger; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers. The family will receive their friends on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, September 19 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
