I had the pleasure of meeting John at the wedding of my brother and was impressed, along with all the rest of the Howard family, by his warmth and sense of humor. It was a joy to see my Aunt Bernadette so happy in her partnership with a very fine person who had the same joie de vivre and commitment to service to others. His kindness and warmth were immediately felt by all of us and we are all blessed by having known him. My sincere condolences to all of his children and loved ones, Patricia C. Howard

To the Luber Family - On behalf of all of John's Regis classmates, permit me to offer our most sincere condolences on John's death. Spending four years together at Regis forges a special bond among classmates. We in the class of '50 have certainly experienced the effects of that bond. We shall miss John. Our prayers are with him and his family. Sincerely, Bill Allingham '50.

Heaven has gained a special angel. "John Charles" will always be remembered by us for his kindness and caring. I first met him at IBM in 1972 and knew instantly that this was a man like no other I had ever met. From the beginning we shared something very special. When I married in 1980, my husband understood from his first encounter with JCL why I felt the way I did. He always had time for everybody, and never forgot anybody. The world has lost a wonderful man.

I met John when he coordinated a class I taught for the Center for Lifetime Study. I had such fun working with him and was saddened to hear of his passing. It was just a year ago and I was so struck by his intelligence and love of learning and of life. I know that he will be missed by many, and most certainly by all of you. God Bless.
