Obituary of Dorothy M. Barrett

Dorothy M. Barrett Dorothy M. Barrett, a longtime resident of the Village of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest, Thursday, December 20, 2007 at her home. She was 87. Daughter of the late Theodore and Mae Griffin, she was born October 31, 1920 in Beacon. She married Sainer Lynn Barrett on April 8, 1945. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1998. Dorothy was a member of Zion Episcopal Church, Wappingers Falls. Prior to her retirement, she was a cafeteria worker at James S. Evans Elementary School, Wappingers Falls. She is survived by her son, Charles E. Barrett of Sunnyvale, California; her daughter, Linda Finck and her husband, Fred of Beacon; her two sisters, Elizabeth Bailey of Hopewell Junction and Jean Hammond of Virginia; her granddaughter, Deanna Haygood and her husband, DeWayne of Milford, Pennsylvania; her great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Cassidy, Emily and Ian and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Thomas Finck. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 23, 2007 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 24 at the funeral home. Fr. Horace Choate will officiate. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
