Obituary of Alice M. Lloyd

Alice May Wood Lloyd Alice May Wood Lloyd, a 20 year resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of the Fishkill entered into rest, Sunday December 2, 2007 at Dutchess Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare. She was 92. Daughter of the late Charles and Alpha Mosher Wood she was born on April 26, 1915 in Philipstown, NY. On July 3, 1933 she married Thomas R. Lloyd in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Lloyd preceded her in death in 1976. Alice enjoyed making ceramics and boutique items. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, auctions and garage sales, traveling and volunteering. For several years along with her husband she sang in church choirs and with charitable organizations Survivors include her son Thomas Lloyd of Wappingers Falls and her sister-in-law Marg Wood of Washingtonville, NY. Family will receive their friends on Thursday December 6, 2007 from 7-9 P.M.at Straub, Catalano and Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday December 7th at 1 P. M., Rev. William Dalrymple officiating. Entombment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Route 9W, Newburgh, NY In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Alice's name to New Hackensack Fire Company, 217 Meyers Corners Road, Wappingers Falls, Y 12590 or Rhinebeck Masonic Lodge #432.
