Obituary of Nora A. Golonka

Nora Golonka Nora Golonka of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Saturday, June 23, 2007 at River Valley Nursing Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 80. Daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Sheridan Walsh, she was born on March 2, 1927 in Poughkeepsie. She married Stanley Golonka in 1974; he precedes her in death. Nora worked most recently for Workshop for the Disabled in Poughkeepsie. Her proudest times were when she was Leading Majorette for the Poughkeepsie High School Band. Nora was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. Survivors include her five nephews, Thomas, Kevin, James, William and Joseph Walsh; several cousins; and her devoted friend, Nellie Reid. She is predeceased by her brother, Thomas Walsh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, June 27 at 9:45 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church in Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
