Obituary of Kenneth J. Catale

Kenneth J. Catale, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 63. Son of the late John A. and Marianna Amabile Catale, he was born January 24, 1951 in the Bronx. He married the former Donna Curry on August 23, 1970 in Mount Kisco. Mrs. Catale survives at home. Prior to his retirement, Kenny worked as a Welder and Mechanic for Local 137 in Briarcliff. He enjoyed camping with his wife and nieces and nephews. Known for working around the garage on his cars, he also treasured his Harley. He had a love for animals. He attended New Hackensack Reformed Church. Most importantly, Kenny loved life and the adventure it brought him. He loved spending time with his wife and family. In addition to his wife of nearly forty-four years, Donna; he is survived by his sister, Geraldine Catale of Yonkers; his sisters-in-law, Susan Williams and her husband, Tom of East Fishkill and Linda Russo and her husband, Frank of Fishkill; his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his seven godchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Anthony and John Catale. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 11, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12 at New Hackensack Reformed Church, 1580 Route 376, Wappingers Falls with Rev. Keith Tamlyn officiating. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9, Fishkill.
