Obituary of Carmina A. Difate
Carmina A. DiFate
Carmina A. DiFate of Wappingers Falls, formerly of Yonkers, entered into rest on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Wingate at Dutchess in Fishkill. She was 90.
Daughter of the late Vincent and Maria Tolio Sgueglia, she was born on July 5, 1916 in New York City. She married the love of her life, Victor G. DiFate, Sr., on January 10, 1943 in Mount Vernon; he precedes her in death, passing on February 11, 2004.
Mrs. DiFate had a deep love for art and opera. She especially loved watching movies.
Survivors include her sons, William DiFate of Waco, Texas, Victor DiFate, Jr. and his wife, Helen of Clayton, Missouri and Vincent DiFate and his wife, Roseanne of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Victor and Kristen; and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her children, Marion Carmenella, Dolores Stude and Jack DeFate, and her siblings, Anthony, Vincent, Samuel and Maria Sgueglia.
Family will receive their friends on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 11 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Route 9D, Wappingers Falls.
Memorial donations may be made in Carmina's name to the American Diabetes Association, 200 White Plains Road, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
