Obituary of Dominic J. Salvatore

Dominic J. Salvatore Dominic J. Salvatore, a lifelong resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Monday, November 27, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 75. Son of the late Angelo and Josephine Benedetto Salvatore, he was born on April 26, 1931 in Wappingers Falls. He married the love of his life, Janet Burger on May 4, 1957 at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls; they remained happily married for almost 50 years. Mr. Salvatore served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He then went on to work as a group leader and machine operator for Chemprene in Beacon, until his retirement. Dominic was a member of the Elks B.P.O.E. in Beacon. He loved baseball and football, especially the Mets and Giants. He also loved to watch television. But, most of all, he loved the time spent with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by his son, Dan Salvatore and his wife, Felicia of the Town of Poughkeepsie; his daughter, Christina Juckett and her husband, Edwin of Hunter Mountain; his brother, Angelo Salvatore; his grandchildren, Andrew, Carla and Patrick Salvatore, and Holly, Nathan and Kimberly Juckett; his great-grandson, Sean; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Salvatore is predeceased by his brothers Patrick, Joseph and Alex, and his sisters, Kate, Josephine and Rose. Family will receive their friends on Thursday, November 30 from 4-8 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, December 1st at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
