Obituary of Jenny V. Patros

Jenny V. Patros Jenny V. Patros, a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was 80. Daughter of the late George and Mary Courlas Vahamikos, she was born October 27, 1925 in Johnson City, New York. Jenny attended and graduated from Johnson City Schools. On June 20, 1948 in Johnson City, she married Theodore Patros. Mr. Patros survives at home. Jenny was a member of Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, Poughkeepsie. She was very active with the church, including singing in the choir and helping with the festivals by baking her well known pastries. She was a member of the Philptochos Society where she was also involved with the Lunch Box in Poughkeepsie, volunteered with the American Heart Association and was a former member of the Daughters of Penelope. In addition to her husband of 58 years, Theodore Patros, she is survived by her sons, John Patros and Peter Patros both of Syracuse; her brother, Thomas "Ange" Vahamikos of Charlotte, North Carolina; her sister, Fanny Anthony of Cortland, New York; one grandson and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive their friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Monday, September 25, 2006 at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will held at 9 am on Tuesday, September 26 at Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, 140 South Grand Avenue, Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow at 3:30 pm in Lakeview Cemetery, East Shore Drive, Ithaca.
