Obituary of Frances C. Greene

Frances C. Greene Frances C. Greene, a longtime resident of Poughkeepsie and formerly of Brattleboro, Vermont, entered into rest Thursday, September 21, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 89. Daughter of the late Thomas J. Ryan, Sr. and Agnes Garrity Ryan, she was born August 17, 1917 in Springfield, Massachusetts. On May 10, 1948 she married Vernon J. Greene, Jr. Mr. Greene preceded her in death in 1996. Survivors include her son, Stephen D. Greene and his wife, Rebecca of Poughkeepsie; her sister, Mary A. Ryan of Brattleboro, VT; her brother, Thomas J. Ryan, Jr. of Rutland, VT; her six grandchildren, Stephen Greene and his wife, Kathy, Dennis Greene and his wife, Laurie, Christopher Greene and his wife, Amy, Meghan Ray and her husband, Mike, Bridget Greene and Trevor Greene; seven great-grandchildren and two nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 25, 2006 at St. Michael's Church, Walnut Street, Brattleboro, VT 05301. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Brattleboro, VT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
