Obituary of Raffaela C. Andriach

Raffaela C. "Rae" Andriach Raffaela C. "Rae" Andriach, a resident of the Town of Wappinger, entered into rest, Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at her home. She was 82. Daughter of the late Frank and Christina Laisa DiDio, she was born April 30, 1924 in Manhattan and lived in the Bronx. She spent the last ten years in Wappingers Falls, where she made her home with her daughter. Rae was a sales associate at Lerner's Department Store in the Bronx until her retirement. She was involved with the Republican Party, volunteered with the Senior Center and was active in St. Dominic's Church while in the Bronx. When she came to Wappingers Falls, she participated in the Wappingers Senior Center for eight years. She was active in the chorus and was known as the cookie lady at the senior center. She married James J. Andriach on May 11, 1946 in New York City. He preceded her in death in 1983. She later married Mario Quattrocchi in 1994. He preceded her in death the same year. Survivors include her four daughters, Rosemarie Ferreira and her husband, Frank, Susan Mingst and her husband, James, Diane Tarrant and Barbara Andriach; her grandchildren, Jamie and Desiree Mingst, Keith and Justin Ferreira, Bradie Stacey, Christopher and Michael Tarrant, Angelo, Robert John, Christine, Carmelo, Jr., Kristina and Jason Andriach; and her four great-grandchildren, Brandon Tarrant, Quintin and Jackson Ferreira and Devon Andriach. Family will receive their friends on Friday, August 25, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am on Saturday, August 26 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Entombment will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale.
