Obituary of Casper M. Casparian

Casper M. Casparian Casper M. Casparian, 75, died unexpectedly at home on March 28, 2006; he was a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie for 46 years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Son of the late Perooz and Manoog Casparian he was born on November 2, 1930 in Peekskill. He married the love of his life, Novart Najarian on August 10, 1957 in Stamford, Connecticut. Mr. Casparian graduated from Peekskill High School and later from Packard Business School in New York City. He then went on to work for New York Central for several years. He ended his career with a 39 year service with IBM. When he retired in 1992, he was a Senior Buyer in the Purchasing Department. Casper was a member and active participant with the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church. He was also very involved with the Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union from its inception. At the time of his death, he was Director Emeritus and had been on the board for 35 years. In addition to his wife of almost 50 years, he is survived by his son Mark Casparian of Miami, FL; his daughters, Diane Garrahan of Virginia Beach, VA and Linda Romano of Greenwich, CT; six grandchildren, Steven, Valerie and Brian Garrahan, Stephanie and Michael Romano and Thomas Casparian; his brother, Aram Casparian of Cornwall-on-the-Hudson; his sister, Armenoosh Shahbazian of Poughkeepsie; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; Family will receive their friends on Friday, March 31, 2006 from 6-9 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 1 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Fishkill.
