Gene F. Page
Gene F. Page of Glenham entered into rest on Friday, February 24, 2006 at Fishkill Health Center in Beacon. He was 78.
Son of the late Karl W. and Dorothea Venner Page, he was born on October 5, 1927 in Springfield, Massachusetts. In 1970, he married the former Virginia Vanderwarker; she survives at home in Glenham.
Mr. Page retired after a career of 21 years in the United States Air Force; he later worked for several land surveyors. He was a member of the VFW Post #798 and the American Legion Post 0021, both in Newport, Vermont. He was also a parishioner of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls.
Besides his wife, Virginia at home, he is survived by his brother, Bruce I. Page of Duluth, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Gene is predeceased by his brother, Karl W. Page, Jr.
Family will receive their friends on Monday, February 27 from 4-7 p.m. at Straub Funeral Home, 55 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Episcopal Church, Satterlee Place in Wappingers Falls, with Rev. Wayne Schmidt and Rev. Sr. Jean Campbell OSH officiating. Entombment will follow in Fishkill Rural Mausoleum, Fishkill. A reception in the Zion Parish Hall will be held following mausoleum services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gene's name to Zion Church Endowment Fund, 12 Satterlee Place, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590 or the Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
