Obituary of Michael J. Novak

Michael J. Novak of the Town of Poughkeepsie entered into rest Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was 61. Son of the late Stephen and Virginia Gordineer Novak, he was born June 17, 1956 in Peekskill. Michael worked for many years for Geis in Peekskill. Most recently, he worked for Wendy's in Peekskill. Michael enjoyed vegetable gardening and playing the lottery. He also enjoyed watching baseball games, no matter the team. Survivors include his siblings, Stephanie Raccioppo and her husband, Nicholas of Poughkeepsie, Susan Tuczynski and her husband, Lawrence of Wappingers Falls, Mary LaSorsa and her husband, Michael of Poughkeepsie, Stephen Novak of Barker, NY, and John Novak and his partner, Roxanne of Barker, NY; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Family will receive their friends on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor.
