Obituary of Julia F. Britton

Julia Britton of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Monday, March 19, 2018 at the Schervier Pavilion in Warwick. She was 91. Daughter of the late John and Mary Diana, she was born on June 11, 1926 in Brooklyn. She married Edward G. Britton on December 11, 1955 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in St. Albans, Queens. Mr. Britton preceded her in death, passing on September 26, 2006. Mrs. Britton was formerly employed in payroll administration at Brooklyn College. She spent her years making a warm and loving home for her family and friends; you couldn't leave her house without being fed. She also loved to socialize and play cards. Survivors include her sons, Edward Britton and his wife, Donna, Anthony Britton and his wife, Elisa, and Michael Britton and his wife, Linda; grandchildren, Jennifer, Nicole, Edward, Kaitlin, Brianna, Anthony, Justin, David, Andrew, Jessie, Arianna, Aidan and Vincent; great-grandchildren, Kailana, Analia, Mya, Rhys and Dean; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers and six sisters. Family will receive their friends on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road in Poughkeepsie. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Julia's name to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
