Obituary of Barbara E. Snisky

Barbara E. Snisky, a ten year resident of Longmont, Colorado and formerly of New York, entered into rest Monday, August 28, 2017 at Peaks Care Center in Longmont. She was 69. Daughter of the late Gloria Montaldo and Hyman Kindelson, she was born on November 17, 1947 in the Bronx. Barbara worked at Sprouts Market, a health food establishment in Longmont, CO. She previously was employed as a medical assistant for Westchester Dermatology in Tarrytown. In her spare time, Barbara loved shopping and playing board games; she truly found fun in everything. She loved listening to music by Michael Bublé. Barbara always enjoyed conversation with family and friends. She had a natural ability to make everyone laugh and could always be counted on for comic relief. In Longmont, Barbara was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Gary C. Snisky of Edgemont; daughter-in-law, Imelda Snisky of White Plains; granddaughters, Brooke Leila Snisky, Ana Christina Snisky and Paloma Alejandra Snisky, all of White Plains; Goddaughter, Chiara B. Porco-Ohrvall of Wappingers Falls; cousin, Sandra B. Porco of Wappingers Falls; many cousins throughout New York that she loved dearly; and her best friend, Karen Edwards of Longmont, CO, who never left Barbara's side until she took her last breath. Family will receive friends on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls.
