Obituary of Regina A. Garrigan

Regina A. Garrigan, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Friday, May 30, 2014 at her home. She was 82. Daughter of the late Louis and Anna Meyer Murray, she was born September 6, 1931 in Poughkeepsie. On February 14, 1954 at Regina Coeli Church, she married Vincent J. Garrigan. Mr. Garrigan preceded her in death on March 9, 2007. Prior to her retirement, Regina worked at Rosenbaum's in Poughkeepsie. She was a parishioner of St. Peter's Church in Hyde Park. She is survived by her children, Cherie Casetta and her husband, Michael of Cape Coral, Florida, Kim Blaisdell and her husband, Mark of South Wales, New York, and Shawn Garrigan and his wife, Katy of Pleasant Valley; her sisters, Rita Hillman of Lockport, New York and Mary Lou Tanner of Staatsburg; her grandchildren, Christopher Lyon and wife, Hosanna, Brandon Lyon and wife, Kelsey, Courtney Lyon, Alicia Franclemont, Victoria Fox and husband, Mike, and Bryan Garrigan; her great-grandchildren, Naveen Lyon and Alynn and Aidan Franclemont; her cousin, Nancy Molinaro of Highland; her best friend of many years, Anna Wise of Wappingers Falls; as well as her beloved cat, Molly. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4 at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish, 99 Inwood Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 with Fr. James A. Garisto officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Salt Point Turnpike in Poughkeepsie. Memorial donations may be made in Regina's name to Dutchess County SPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY 12538.
