Obituary of Mary A. Lowe

Mary A. Lowe of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 90. Daughter of the late Ignacy and Caroline Drozd Pieja, she was born on August 19, 1926 in Reading, Pennsylvania. She married Arthur E. Lowe, Jr. on April 26, 1947 in Reading; Mr. Lowe preceded her in death, passing on June 12, 2010. Mary spent her years making a warm and loving home for her husband and four children. She really enjoyed baking. Most of all, Mary enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren, especially when she used to care for them in their younger years. Survivors include her children, Christine Lowe of Esopus, Kenneth Lowe of Wappingers Falls, David Lowe and his wife, Alice of Wappingers Falls, and Dianne Mitchell and her husband, Charles Wahl of Highland; brother, Eugene Pieja and his wife, Patricia of Mohnton, PA; beloved grandchildren, Michael, Robert, Jessie, Krystal, Nikki, Jaime, Stephanie and Heather; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Arthur, she was predeceased by her brothers, John, Julian, Raymond and Joseph, and her sisters, Helen and Josephine. Memorial services will be private.
