Obituary of Thomas E. Cahill

Thomas E. Cahill, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Monday, May 19, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 64. Son of the late Charles S. and Virginia G. Hard Cahill, he was born October 23, 1949 in Peekskill. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1971. He married the former Margo Gowan on April 10, 1976 at St. Patrick's Church in Yorktown. Mrs. Cahill survives at home. He retired from IBM in Fishkill after thirty years, as a Facilities Coordinator. In addition to his wife, Margo Cahill, he is survived by his sons, Sean Cahill of Wappingers Falls, Christopher Cahill and his wife, Bridget of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Michael Cahill of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; his grandchildren, Connor and Emma Cahill; his brother, Gary Cahill and his wife, Annie of Pleasantville; his sisters, Maureen Cahill and her partner, Sandra of New Hampshire, Kathleen Szajek and her husband, Dale of Pennsylvania and Sharlene Rausso and her husband, Armando of Yonkers; as well as several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 12 noon on Friday, May 23, 2014 at St. Mary Mother of the Church, Jackson Street in Fishkill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tom's name may be made to Chelsea Fire Company, PO Box 61, Chelsea, NY 12512. Arrangements are under the direction of Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls.
