Obituary of Maravillas Pozo

Maravillas Pozo, a resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of Yonkers, entered into rest Monday, March 3, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 90. Daughter of the late Francisco and Annamarie Fernandez Robles she was born April 23, 1923 in Caravaca, Spain. She married the love of her life Leopold Pozo on October 2, 1944 in Algiers, Algeria. Mr. Pozo preceded her in death on January 22, 2009. Maravillas enjoyed crocheting and knitting and was an avid reader. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary Knight of Columbus, Guiding Star Council. She is survived by her son, John L. Pozo and his wife, Maureen of Wappingers Falls; her grandchildren, Jeanine Lanzetta and John Kubasek and his wife, Suzi; her great-grandchildren, Dion, Brandi, and Andrew; as well as several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 7 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
