Obituary of Barbara Ann Murphy

Barbara Ann Murphy, a resident of Wappingers Falls and formerly of New Windsor, entered into rest Thursday, December 22, 2016 at her home. She was 63. Daughter of the late Bernard Peter and Margaret Theresa D'Amico Brady, she was born April 22, 1953 in Long Island City, New York. In 1971, she married Joseph Thomas Murphy. He preceded her in death in 2006. Prior to her retirement, Barbara worked as a bookkeeper for PRG (Production Resource Group) in New Windsor. She had a deep faith and was active in many churches including, King of Kings Lutheran Church in New Windsor, St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie, Trinity Lutheran Church in Walden and Calvary Chapel in Poughkeepsie. Survivors include her children, Joseph Bernard Murphy and his wife, Irene of New Windsor and Debra M. Lynch and her husband, Bryan of Fishkill; her siblings, Kathleen M. Piergiorgi of Monroe, Michael P. Brady of Scottsdale, Arizona and Mary Ellen Ferranti of Edison, New Jersey; her six grandchildren, Collin, Danny, Abigail, Sean, Joseph and Andrew; as well as four nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her sister, Carol Ann Brady. Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 55 Wilbur Boulevard in Poughkeepsie.
