Obituary of April M. Scrivani
April M. Scrivani, 70, dearly loved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Mema, no longer able to battle cancer, went Home to be with Jesus and her loved ones. April went home Monday, November 28, 2016 holding her husband's hand at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
April was born April 30, 1946 in Sharon, Connecticut to the late Russell O'Dell and Alice F. Bailey O'Dell. She married Ronald E. Scrivani on May 12, 1979 after several years of dating. April worked in retail most of her life. She enjoyed working with people. Prior to her recent employment as a cashier at Wal-Mart in Fishkill for 9 ½ years, April loved helping shoppers design their homes at Montgomery Ward. April enjoyed spending time with her family for family get-togethers, parties, and barbecuing by a pool. She loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Reading was a favorite past time of April's. Getting her nails done was always a highlight! April worshipped at Faith Assembly of God in Poughkeepsie.
April is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Scrivani of Poughkeepsie.
Four sisters: Phyllis L. Roger, and companion, John Boland of Milton; Julie E. Biktjorn of Wyoming; Priscilla A. Cole of Wappingers Falls; and Alice (Lynn) M. Van Vliet, and husband Elmer of Hyde Park.
Six children: Shelley L. Booth of Poughkeepsie; Carrie L. Koch, and husband Joseph of Poughkeepsie; Leonard M. O'Dell and companion Betty Jo Miller of Poughkeepsie; Kristin D. O'Dell of Tivoli; Ronalda (Randi) E. Cole of Poughkeepsie; and Nikko R.L. Scrivani, and his companion Deborah (Doobie) Cortes of Beacon. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
April was predeceased by a daughter, Tracey L. Van Vliet, September 4, 1993.
Services will be private.
