Obituary of Carmela Nigrelli

Carmela Nigrelli, a resident of Hopewell Junction, entered into rest Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Wingate at Beacon. She was 96. The youngest child of the late Francesco and Filomena Dresca Chilelli, she was born July 16, 1920 in Longobardi, Cosenza, Italy. She married Fedele Nigrelli who preceded her in death. She came to the United States on August 15, 1995. She is survived by her sons, Angelo Nigrelli, Arturo Nigrelli and his wife, Gisella, Aldo Nigrelli and his wife, Maria, and Frank Nigrelli and his wife, Ida; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her five brothers and sisters. Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 8:30 p.m. during the visitation. Entombment will be in Longobardi, Cosenza, Italy.
