Obituary of Benjamin M. Murello

Benjamin M. Murello, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Sunday, July 10, 2016 at his home. He was 44. Son of Benjamin and Jane Casillo Murello, Jr. of Belgrade Lakes, Maine, he was born May 15, 1972 in White Plains. Ben was a master plumber and owned and operated Murello's Plumbing in Wappingers Falls. He was a member of the Southern Dutchess Sportsmen Association. He was a great outdoorsman; he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to cook and was considered a grill-master. Ben was known for his large garden and even more known for sharing his harvest with family and friends. Ben loved Damaris' children and had a wonderful time with them. He was not known as a big reader, but read to the girls every night they were together. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents Jane and Benjamin Murello, Jr., he is survived by his sister, Deborah Basher and her husband, John of Wappingers Falls; his uncle, Michael Casillo of Poughkeepsie; his girlfriend, Damaris Sulsona and her children, Mary, Juliana and Natalia; as well as numerous friends. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street in Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. during the visitation. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Fishkill Rural Mausoleum, Route 9 in Fishkill.
