Obituary of Mildred S. Peene

Mildred S. Peene, a resident of Danbury, Connecticut and formerly of Deland, Florida, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at her home. She was 98. Daughter of the late Adelbert and Ethel Kellerhouse Shultz, she was born July 16, 1917 in Pine Plains. She married William Peene on September 7, 1940 in Pine Plains. Mr. Peene preceded her in death on October 27, 1973. Survivors include her nephew and caregiver, Robert Camenga and his wife, Dorothy; her niece, Donna Stanley; her nephew, Bill Shultz; her niece, Mary Briggs and her husband, Tom; her niece, Marcia Eckl and her husband, Jim; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Shultz; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Florence Camenga and brother, Adelbert Shultz. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery, North Main Street in Pine Plains. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
